Family Planning Benefit
We have partnered with Carrot to support you during your family planning journey, regardless of marital status, gender, or sexual orientation. Carrot makes it easy for you or your partner to speak with fertility experts, access family planning and reproductive care services, and get reimbursed for eligible expenses.
Databricks offers a $15,000* lifetime benefit allowance through Carrot to support you on this journey.
Due to IRS regulations*:
- You must be enrolled in one of Databricks’ medical plans in order to be reimbursed for medical expenses related to the diagnosis of infertility and/or travel expenses for reproductive care for non-viable pregnancies and abortions that are inaccessible in your resident state.
- In addition, if you are enrolled in the UHC OAP HDHP/HSA plan, you must first meet the annual medical deductible ($1,650 individual / $3,300 family) before you can be reimbursed for infertility care expenses and/or travel expenses for reproductive care for non-viable pregnancies and abortions that are inaccessible in your resident state.
- Eligible travel expenses will apply towards the $15,000 Carrot lifetime benefit maximum.
- You do not need to be enrolled in a Databricks medical plan if you want to use the Carrot benefit for adoption, surrogacy or other elective services (gestational carrier services, cryo-preservation options, menopause/low-t, etc).
*Based on IRS tax code 213(d), treatments due to infertility and eligible travel-related expenses will be treated as non-taxable. Any other reimbursements received for treatments under Carrot is taxable, and those taxes will be withheld from your regular pay.
