Disability

All regular Germany-based employees aged 18 to 65 are automatically enrolled in disability insurance as of their hire date. The insurer is Zurich.

Coverage

Should you be unable to work due to illness, and it is determined by the insurer that you are unable to perform at least 50% of your work duties, you will receive up to 30% of your monthly base salary (up to a maximum of EUR 120,000 per year) following 180 days of continuous absence. Medical underwriting will be required should your potential benefit payout value exceed EUR 75,000. The benefit will be paid until you return to work, turn 67 or leave Databricks - whichever occurs first.

Contributions

Databricks pays 100% of the premium for this benefit. You will be required to pay tax and social security contributions on the benefit payout, however.
