Income Protection Insurance
Protecting your income shouldn’t be another source of stress and worry if you become ill or disabled and are no longer able to work. Here are the programs that Databricks provides:
Short Term Disability (STD) provides a payment of 100% of an employee’s base annual salary (including 8% holiday allowance) in the first year of illness and 70% of an employee’s salary in the second year. The maximum salary covered is up to €125,000 per year.
WGA Extensive Gap Insurance (WGA Gap) provides a coverage in case of partial incapacity for work from the third year of illness. The benefit payable is 70% of an employee’s base annual salary (including 8% holiday allowance). The salary covered is capped at the social security maximum salary, that is €75,864 in 2025. The benefit is inclusive of any social security payments employees might be eligible to receive from the state. Benefits under this insurance will be adjusted annually according to the WIA-index, which corresponds with the way in which the social security maximum is adjusted.
WIA Excess Insurance (WIA Excess) supplements the Extensive Gap Insurance by covering for the salary above the social security limit of €75,864 (2025), up to a maximum salary limit of €200,000. The insurance provides a payment of 70% of an employee’s base annual salary (including 8% holiday allowance).
