Group Medical Insurance
Base Medical Plan
The Base medical plan includes a hospitalization/inpatient limit of INR 700,000 per family per year and an outpatient limit of INR 15,000 per family per year. Room, boarding, and nursing expenses are reimbursable up to 2% of the sum insured. There are no specific limits on ICU charges.
You may elect coverage for yourself and up to seven eligible dependents, which may include:
- Your spouse,
- Up to four dependent children under age 25, and
- Up to two parents or parents-in-law. Please note that only one set of dependent parents is possible; cross combination (i.e. father and mother-in-law) is not allowed.
Contributions
Databricks pays 100% of the premium costs for the Base medical plan for you and up to five eligible dependents, which may include:
- Your spouse,
- Up to two dependent children under age 25, and
- Up to two parents or parents-in-law.
If you have more than two eligible children who you wish to enroll, you will be responsible for the premium to cover them via payroll deductions.
Top-Up Insurance
You may also elect top-up insurance coverage above the Base medical plan at your own cost. The annual premium is prorated based on your effective date and will be deducted via six monthly payroll deductions (usually beginning the month after election.) Should your deduction schedule overlap the policy year end (June 30) the remaining premium balance will be deducted in your July payslip. (e.g. should you join in May, your full pro-rated premium will be taken over your June and July payslips.)
You can not elect/waive/change top-up insurance coverage outside of the annual Open Enrollment period (which takes place annually in July) for the upcoming policy year (1 July through 30 June.)
Can I receive a refund for my top-up insurance premium if I leave Databricks?
The paid premium is not refundable should you leave Databricks.
